So, mukhang nagiging home quarantine diary ko na itong blog. It’s been my 3rd day working on some house work (na trabaho ko naman talaga).

Accomplishment ko for the day, and my wife is happy. To see her smile is priceless.

Kanina naman, nag-pintura ako ng guest room. Yes—may guest room kami. Uulitin ko lang, hindi kami sosyal or maarte or rich, like celebrities or sumthin’, pero yes—may guest room kami. Hehehe. So, obviously, for our guests yung room. So guest room sya as long as hindi alam ni Meliz. Patience is key. At least, may pahinga pa rin.

Pero in reality, pagod ako habang naka-quarantine. Si Gold, nagta-trabaho din. And no, hindi ako nagrereklamo. Pagod ako, pero masaya akong nagtatrabaho. Masaya akong may accomplishment sa bawat araw. Masaya akong hindi ako nawawalan ng gagawin. I can choose naman to just relax and do nothing, pero hindi kasi sya magandang gawing practice sa buhay.

Bakit? Because primarily, laziness is a sin. Sa ayaw at sa gusto natin, man was called to responsibility after He was created. Key purpose ng man is to accomplish the will of God sa earth, to do godly work sa kanyang area of responsibility. Just as how Adam was commissioned to tend the Garden of Eden, I must be responsible din sa lahat ng bagay at areas na ipinagkatiwala sa akin ng Diyos—trabaho man ‘yan, pamilya, pera, oras, gamit, at iba pa sa lahat ng panahon. This does not mean na against ako sa pagpapahinga. No. I am encouraging rest, actually. God, after creating everything, rested din. Hindi dahil sa napagod sya. That is, to set an example to man na we must rest din and rest sa sovereignty Niya over our daily work and concerns (this is the essence of Sabbath). Katamaran on the other hand, is negligence of duty.

The Lord God took the man and put him in the garden of Eden to work it and keep it.
Genesis 2:15 (ESV)

But if anyone does not provide for his relatives, and especially for members of his household, has denied the faith and is worse than an unbeliever.
1 Timothy 5:8 (ESV)

"One who is faithful in a very little is also faithful in much, and one who is dishonest in a very little is also dishonest in much."
Luke 16:10 (ESV)

And he said to them, "The Sabbath was made for man, not man for the Sabbath. So the Son of Man is lord even of the Sabbath."
Mark 2:27-28 (ESV)

Whoever is slack in his work is a brother to him who destroys.
Proverbs 18:9 (ESV)

‘Pag hindi kumain, papayat or magkakasakit.

A slack hand causes poverty; but the hands of the diligent makes rich. He who gathers in summer is a prudent son, but he who sleeps in harvest is a son who brings shame.
Proverbs 10:4-5 (ESV)

The soul of the sluggard craves and gets nothing, while the soul of the diligent is richly supplied.
Proverbs 13:4 (ESV)

In all toil there is profit, but mere talk tends only to poverty.
Proverbs 14:23 (ESV)

Slothfulness casts into a deep sleep, and an idle person will suffer hunger.
Proverbs 19:15 (ESV)

The Lord is calling us to life, not death. Though humanity has been gravely separated sa Panginoon dahil sa kasalanan, He gave His only begotten Son, Jesus Christ, to be slain and serve as perfect atonement for sins. And in God’s saving work sa people Niya, He has given the Holy Spirit to sanctify us and restore us to God’s holy purpose. The Spirit enables us to obey God. He causes us to love the Lord and His commandments, leading us to repentance unto holiness, faith, and godly wisdom. And this wisdom from the Lord shows us the meaning of life. Walang meaningless na bagay or pangyayari; walang purposeless na relationship, time, or experience. And having the understanding na all things must lead to the glory of God should put us in the position where we will use our resources, our time, our everything for the glory of God, at hindi for nothing.

And I will put my Spirit within you, and cause you to walk in my statutes and be careful to obey my rules.
Ezekiel 36:27 (ESV)

Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come.
2 Corinthians 5:17 (ESV)

The end of the matter; all has been heard. Fear God and keep his commandments, for this is the whole duty of man. For God will bring every deed into judgment, with every secret thing, whether good or evil.
Ecclesiastes 12:13-14 (ESV)

Look carefully then how you walk, not as unwise but as wise, making the best use of the time, because the days are evil. Therefore do not be foolish, but understand what the will of the Lord is.
Ephesians 5:15-17 (ESV)

And though we know that the Lord is sovereign, hindi ito excuse para maging tamad. Laging kasama nito ang responsibility. Man must work in utter dependence sa Panginoon, being aware na it is the Lord who will bless the work of His hands, trusting na the Lord will provide for him his daily needs. Thus, we pray constantly for the Lord to give us our daily bread. All man has to do is to honor the Lord in everything he does—including his stewardship.

Commit your work to the Lord, and your plans will be established.
Proverbs 16:3 (ESV)

Pray then like this: "Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name. Your kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil."
Matthew 6:9-13 (ESV)

Regardless of our circumstances, let us make use of our time wisely and work without grumbling. Let us work as if we are working for King Jesus. The Lord is pleased with godly work that is done joyfully. Let’s live our lives to the glory of our Maker.

Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord and not for men, knowing that from the Lord you will receive the inheritance as your reward. You are serving the Lord Christ. For the wrongdoer will be paid back for the wrong he has done, and there is no partiality.
Colossians 3:23-25 (ESV)
